Beaches
Our favorite beach is one that’s only got a small sign on the side of the road that simply says, “Beach Access”. Giant driftwood logs and stumps scattered across tiny stones. Said stones warm up on summer days and when you walk across them, it’s like a hot stone massage for your feet. Drive right up to the edge. Park. Enjoy. You can find these throughout.
Camping
There’s some incredible camping spots throughout. Klein Lake, and Egmont having some hidden gems among many. Campsites in Canada, certainly provincial and federal ones, are generally really clean and well maintained.
Hiking
Where to begin? A fun one is in Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park where the tidal flow into the Sechelt Inlet produces a super unique current, said to be the fastest tidal rapids in the world. You check the tide schedule and try to time it so that you get there to see the tide rip through at peak flow. To get there you do a zen walk amongst enormous moss covered trees. So good.
Town Hopping
Gibsons, Sechelt, Davis Bay, and Halfmoon Bay all have some incredibly unique and solid spots to explore. From the Gumboot Cafe to Molly’s Reach you’ll find a bunch of places to park and grab a relaxing bite along the way.
It's truly a unique place on earth
There’s just something special that happens to a person on that short 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and you truly get a sense of change as your journey begins up the steep hill from the ferry terminal. It's a transformation and its augmented when you're adding four-wheel glamping to the mix.
